Welcome to the Pacific Northwest Region of the United Schutzhund Clubs of America. This region encompasses Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, and Wyoming. This website was created to serve as a source of information for UScA members in this region and for friends both inside and out of the region.
Working Dog Championships
The Pacific Northwest Region was ably represented at the recent UScA Working Dog Championship in Columbus, Ohio. It was an exceptionally well run event, superbly competitive, and very well judged.
Lynne Lewis with Galina vom Burgdorfer Holz, Shade Whitesel with Reiki vom Aegis, and Kevin Nance with Vandal vom Mittelwest finished 21st, 22nd, and 25th respectively among 61 entrants. In addition, Lynne and Galina garnered High Scoring Female and High Scoring Double X ™ Female Team effectively keeping the latter award “home” in the Pacific Northwest. High Scoring Double X ™ is sponsored by Nia Cottrel from Cascade Schutzhund Verein at many championship events.
Lynne and Shade will also be competing at the AWDF National Championship in Indianapolis on May 9-12, 2012. Kevin will be there as well to “cheer” them on.
We wish both the very best and appreciate how well they represent us all at these championship events.

Bev Carlson 1935-2012
Bev at the 2011 Regionals
It is with a heavy heart that many in the region have taken the news of the passing of one of it’s most recognizable and long-standing stalwarts. Beverly “Bev” Carlson died on March 26, 2012 at her home cared for by her husband Alan. Despite her ongoing, debilitating struggle with congestive heart failure, Bev was seen “as usual” at last year’s Regional Championship in support of both Alan, who was competing, and the region.
Bev and Alan absolutely exemplified the best in our sport not only through their obvious dedication to one another, but their demonstrable, unwavering support of the region and its clubs. It was not at all uncommon to see them attending multiple events every year whether Alan was showing or not. Bev will be missed by many.

She is survived by her husband, son Ted (Janise), Sister Nancy, Brothers Alba (Karren) and Claude (Sheila), two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
